Facilitated by members of The San Francisco Equity Leaders (SFEL), a cohort of DEI directors from Bay Area independent schools and consultants, this ongoing program with multiple in-person and virtual sessions is intended for people who are doing DEIB work in official and “unofficial” roles. It is meant to provide participants with a safe and supportive community to reflect, share stories, and learn from each other.

ShiftinEdu is a two-day learning event hosted by St. Stephen's Episcopal Day School, designed for forward-thinking educators who embrace evidence-based and innovative practices in K-12 environments. Attendees can learn from top educational thought leaders, researchers, and practitioners to gain a deeper understanding of how to design and deliver innovative learning experiences that prepare students for success.

 

This ongoing program will provide new leaders and educators growing into leadership roles with the tools and strategies to lead more successfully. With a focus on fostering your own personal growth as well as furthering your responsibility for the growth and development of others, participants will identify and hone the skills and habits of effective leaders, including locating one’s authentic leadership style, leveraging position within an institution, fostering high functioning teams, making informed decisions, navigating change and conflict, and creating and maintaining inclusive school environments in predominantly white institutions.

An opportunity for heads and board members to strengthen collaboration on current challenges, identify common goals, and strategically plan for the success of the school.

The conference features three keynotes and two dozen breakouts addressing a wide array of topics. Discover new strategies for success and learn about emerging trends from top-notch speakers. In this day-long intensive, educators will learn more about the current mental health climate and how this widespread epidemic is affecting young people. During this program, educators will develop strategies, curricular guidelines, and pedagogical approaches to address how physical health and mental health intersect in classrooms.

This five-session virtual program will help educators develop practical financial management skills necessary for leadership roles in K-12 day schools and boarding schools. Moving beyond the theoretical and foundational principles of finance, this program is grounded in the practical tools that educators and schools can use to understand trends, articulate current and potential economic challenges, and develop strategic and action-oriented approaches to sound financial management and financial sustainability.

This program, which includes multiple in-person and virtual sessions from October 2024-April 2025, leads participants through an active roadmap for reimagining their schools’ approach to teacher SuperVision and growth-focused feedback. Develop new models of teacher mentorship and support to navigate and embrace post-remote shifts in teaching and learning.

This three-session online cohort will center collective dialogue, offering white educators the opportunity to reflect on and process how they are experiencing—emotionally and somatically—this rise in global, national, and local conflict.
