Sonya Douglass Horsford is an associate professor of education at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Her research interests include the political and policy contexts of education leadership with a focus on school desegregation and education reform in the post-civil rights era. She is editor of three books and author of Learning in a Burning House: Educational Inequality, Ideology, and (Dis)Integration, which received a 2013 Critics’ Choice Award from the American Educational Studies Association.
