Scholarship Providers
While the majority of financial aid available to families attending private schools comes directly from the schools, there are many organizations that provide tuition assistance to families. These providers are limited in number, tend to be locally based, offer funding in limited amounts based on need, and often require that students attend a participating school. In addition to investigating these opportunities, NAIS strongly encourages families to contact the school(s) they are interested in to investigate the financial aid programs provided there. Schools may also be able to identify other organizations in their local communities that provide support but are not listed here. What This Listing Offers This listing identifies organizations that offer financial support either to schools or to students and families to help offset tuition costs at private schools. If a program is not open to student applicants, it will be specifically noted; these programs are included as a resource for schools seeking funding support for their financial aid programs. Wherever possible, NAIS has provided full contact information, web address, award amounts, and any known restrictions, affiliations, or residential limitations for eligibility. Where any of this information does not appear for a particular organization, the information was either not available or not applicable at the time the listing was developed. In reviewing this list, keep in mind that it is not exhaustive; there are many other organizations that may not be represented here. For example, even though the national Rotary Club does not provide a scholarship, individual local chapters might. Employers, churches and other civic organizations in your community are good places to ask. The local Chamber of Commerce or public library may also have additional information or resources. Important Note This listing is provided for informational purposes only and has been verified to the best of NAIS's ability. NAIS cannot be held responsible if certain programs cease operations, alter their program details, or change contact information. Because these organizations are largely funded through voluntary, private donations, it is important to bear in mind that detail for scholarship programs may change at any time. It is imperative to contact the agencies for specific program terms, descriptions, deadlines, and eligibility requirements. A Note of Thanks NAIS extends its gratitude and appreciation to the schools that assisted this effort to identify these organizations and to the organizations themselves, who help keep educational opportunity within reach of those who cannot afford tuition costs without help.
