SLI is an intensive, three-day residential program that will help you better understand your own leadership style and identify your strengths as well as areas for growth in five key facets of independent school leadership.

The Teaching Foundations program is designed to support the growth and success of all teachers—particularly those in their early years at independent schools—by focusing on foundational areas of teaching.

Each institute brings together K-12 teachers, administrators, and counselors from around the world for a four-day professional development program that builds on evidence-based SEL practices and fosters collaboration, reflection, and renewal.

The Associate Level coursework is designed to hone the trainee's ability to provide diagnostic and prescriptive instruction in a one-to-one remedial setting. In addition, it exposes the trainee to more sophisticated levels of language instruction than can be provided in the Classroom Educator course.

This event will guide participants in exploring the multilayered challenges of this unique position and in developing the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to become effective department leaders.

This one-day summer institute for middle- and high-school educators will focus on building an understanding of executive functioning and give space and opportunity for designing and refining assessments.

This two-day, in-person program will center collective dialogue, offering white educators the opportunity to reflect on and process how they are experiencing—emotionally and somatically—this rise in global, national, and local conflict. Participants will also consider the ways that white supremacy culture prevents us from breaking our silence and stepping into conflict with curiosity and humility. Participants will learn from one another through collective wisdom and will gain concrete strategies and frameworks to support their work moving forward.

During the week, you will explore effective lesson planning strategies based on the constructivist mindset, discuss how to foster classrooms of deep and transferable learning, jump into the science of learning, and fully immerse new teachers in the essential understandings of building a classroom environment where everyone feels known and valued.

This two-day summer institute is designed to take you on a journey through transformative professional design and facilitation experiences. Drawing upon research-informed practices, transformational adult learning theory, Universal Design for Learning, and liberatory design, The Design Lab provides a unique opportunity to revitalize your meeting ideas, opening week workshops, professional learning days, or any other gathering.
